Building Resilient Supply Chains: A Framework

Aug 2025 · 7 min read

A structured model for mapping dependencies, defining recovery targets, and operationalizing contingency plans.

Resilience begins with dependency mapping: identify single-source SKUs, sole-region suppliers, and logistics chokepoints before a disruption occurs.

Define recovery time objectives (RTO) by category. Revenue-critical items need alternate suppliers qualified in advance; low-priority items can tolerate longer recovery windows.

Contingency plans must be executable, not theoretical. VIPEO runs tabletop exercises with client teams to validate contact trees, alternate routes, and approval workflows.

Measure resilience quarterly: supplier concentration index, on-time-in-full rates, and mean time to recovery after incidents.
